On 8 October 2026, the first Tax Expenditure Country Report for Germany, authored by Christian von Haldenwang (IDOS) and Michael Thöne (FiFo Cologne), will be unveiled at the North Rhine-Westphalia State Representation in Berlin. Speakers will include Marcus Optendrenk, Minister for Finance of North Rhine-Westphalia; Michael Schrodi, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance; and Katharina Beck, spokesperson on fiscal policy for the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group in the Bundestag.
