The federal foreign trade fair promotion

As part of the official foreign trade fair program of the Federal Republic of Germany, a funding for the participation of German companies is provided trough the federal budget. The total cost of a trade fair participation for a company is thereby reduced by approximately 40% trough the (indirect) acquisition of certain cost components.

 

The study examines the regulatory aspects and the overall economic effects of foreign trade fair promotion. Particular attention is paid to the overseas marketing terms for SME and the specifics of joint stands. Export and tax revenues and jobs, secured trough the 1994 foreign trade fair promotion, were modeled in different scenarios taking differentiated windfall gains into account.

 

In 2001, the study was presented in an updated and expanded edition.
